Wednesday pair in international action

Keiren Westwood and Daniel Pudil were both in international action on Wednesday evening. Westwood played the first 45 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in their 4-0 friendly win over Oman in Dublin and Pudil was also subbed at half-time in the Czech Republic’s 3-0 victory against Armenia in their home friendly.

Vermijl says farewell to Owls

Marnick Vermijl has left Wednesday for Championship rivals Preston for an undisclosed fee. Vermijl, 24, moved to Hillsborough in February of last year from Manchester United but spent last season on loan at Deepdale and leaves us after making just 12 appearances for the Owls.
