London Owls will be shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of our former winger from the seventies, Paul Bradshaw.

Paul passed away yesterday, aged 72.

Len Ashurst signed Paul from Burnley in 1976 and he went on to play 74 times for the Owls over two seasons, scoring 11 goals, before a serious knee injury forced his retirement from the game at just 25 years old.

Wednesday hosted a benefit game for the Sheffielder against Leeds United in 1979, by which time Paul had started a new career as a coach in schools, a position he maintained for two decades.

Paul later qualified as a teacher and also returned to football as assistant manager of Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The thoughts of the London Owls are very much with Paul’s family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.

RIP, Paul.
