Dave Challinor is looking forward to his first game in charge of Wednesday when we take on Oldham Athletic in our televised FA Cup round one tie at Boundary Park on Sunday.

The manager has had a week of press conferences, meeting his new players and staff and getting down to work on the training ground since his appointment to replace Henrik Pedersen at S6.

Ahead of the Oldham tie he said it had all been “a bit of a whirlwind” but that he was now looking forward to the game and the chance to see his team in action from the dugout for the first time.

Jamal Lowe will be available again following his three-match ban but Sil Swinkels is ruled out after being red-carded against Blackpool last weekend.

Sunday’s match kicks off at 5.15pm, if it is a draw after 90 minutes there will be extra time and, if needed, penalties.

Wednesday will be backed by a sellout away section and the tie is live on TNT Sports.
