Tyler Onyango has joined Wednesday on a three-year contract as a free agent after leaving Everton in the summer.

Onyango, 23, is a central midfielder but can also play at right back and as a central defender.

He said after signing: “I’m absolutely delighted. What a club and a great opportunity for me. I can’t wait to get going. It’s been a great first few days and I’m really happy.

“As a young player, to join a club that has big ambition is massive. I know a couple of the lads already but the rest of the group have taken to me really well. It’s a really welcoming club and somewhere I want to stay and be a part of.”

Onyango made his senior debut for Everton against us in an Emirates FA Cup tie in January 2021.

His first Premier League game followed in November of the same year, facing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Onyango also had loans at Burton Albion, Forest Green Rovers and Stockport County before his Everton contract expired in June.
