Wednesday slipped from second to fourth in the League One table after only a handful of matches were played in the division today due to the international break.

With the Owls last two games, including today, postponed because of international calls others took advantage of our absence to put added pressure on us towards the head of the division.

Plymouth went top on 16 points after winning at Orient, overtaking previous leaders Bradford who were held to a draw at Reading and dropped to second on goal difference.

Huddersfield moved up to third place on 15 points after victory at Burton.

Those results see us down to fourth with 14 points from seven matches but we now have two games in hand on leaders Plymouth and have played one less than both Bradford and Huddersfield.

We are back in competitive action on Tuesday evening when we take on Sunderland under-21s at Hillsborough in our second group match in the EFL Trophy.

Then comes our next league fixture with a tough-looking trip to Huddersfield on Saturday, Wednesday having already sold out our ticket allocation.
