A point at Barnsley was not enough to prevent Wednesday dropping to the foot of the Championship table today … and heaps further pressure on Dave Jones.
With Yeovil recording a 3-1 win over Forest, we slipped to bottom place and the manager’s future must come under further scrutiny.
The majority view in recent weeks has been that Milan Mandaric will not want to dismiss a manager – and the accompanying pay-off – while he is looking to sell the club. However, there is also the consideration about what the value of the club will be if we continue to struggle and Mandaric’s recent interview indicated that there is no new owner on the horizon.
We are now 12 league games without a victory this season – coupled with only one win in five at the end of the last campaign. Our next seven matches are all against teams currently in the top nine places … leaving Mandaric surely asking himself serious questions about where to from here.
