Carlos Carvalhal was pleased with Wednesday’s performance in the 2-1 win at Doncaster and says the squad is in good shape as the Championship opener at Preston approaches.
Keiren Westwood returned from his knee injury to play the full game, Glenn Loovens got a first runout of pre-season – albeit for only 18 minutes – following his hamstring problem and Almen Abdi featured for 56 minutes.
Carvalhal said afterwards: “The result is not the most important thing but the performance was very good.
“We’re in a good way going into the season, tonight we had some players back who haven’t played much in pre-season which is important.”
