Darren Moore spoke of Wednesday’s slow start and three sloppy goals conceded in tonight’s 3-2 Papa Johns Trophy defeat at home to Burton.
We trailed 2-0 inside the first 20 minutes and Moore said: “It was a slow start by us, giving them the first two goals. After about half an hour I thought we warmed into it and scored two good goals of our own.
“Then second half they get the penalty and see the game out. From our perspective we gave away three sloppy goals.
“The only positives I can take from the game is that we gave sufficient minutes to players who needed minutes in their legs and I’m pleased for Mallik Wilks and Alex Mighten who showed signs of what they are going to give us this season in terms of the offensive side of their game.”
