Wednesday’s hopes of a relegation ‘great escape’ were given another boost tonight with three rivals all losing.
Birmingham remain a point behind us in 23rd place after their 1-0 home defeat to Cardiff, while Blackburn stay on 46 points – three ahead of the Owls following a 5-0 thumping at Bristol City.
Meanwhile Stoke, who visit Hillsborough on Saturday, also failed to add to their 46 points after a 3-0 reverse at Swansea.
The results mean we retain our place in 22nd on 43 points, only in the relegation places on goal difference, and four points adrift of QPR in 16th … with four matches left for all the clubs in the scrap to avoid relegation.
