Danny Rohl says his focus is totally on managing Sheffield Wednesday after days of speculation that he could be on his way to former club Southampton at the end of the season.

Ahead of a tough-looking upcoming eight days which sees us away to Plymouth on Saturday and Norwich next Tuesday – followed by the S6 clash with Sheff U on March 16 – Rohl told today’s press conference: “All the rumours and topics around do not influence me. For me, my main part is here and to win the next game with my group.

“My full energy is at the moment here with Sheffield Wednesday and with the group.”

With Plymouth and Norwich two of our longest trips of the season, Rohl said the squad will not be returning to Sheffield until after the  Carrow Road clash and will take a bigger group than usual to cover for the ‘double header’.

On the injury front, he said Max Lowe and Callum Paterson should be fit to be considered for a return at Plymouth after both getting injured against Sunderland while Michael Smith and Stuart Armstrong are in a similar situation after being ruled out of the Black Cats defeat.

However, there are question marks over the fitness of Anthony Musaba and Yan Valery and we go into the game at Home Park on the back of three successive league defeats, leaving us seven points adrift of the play-offs and with only 11 games to play.

Talking further about his future at Wednesday, Rohl added: “At the moment, there is no reason why we should talk now about this situation or about anything else except for the next game and that is the direction we need to go for the next 11 matches.”
