Rohl adds to coaching staff ahead of Watford clash

Danny Röhl has added Chris Powell and Henrik Pedersen to his backroom team at Wednesday.

The highly experienced Powell, pictured, moves to Hillsborough as assistant coach, having most recently worked with Tottenham’s youth academy and England’s senior side under Gareth Southgate.

He made 274 Premier League appearances and won five England caps as a player and the 54-year-old has since managed Charlton, Huddersfield and Southend.

The pair got to know each other while working for their respective national teams.

Pedersen leaves his position as manager of Vendsyssel FF in Denmark to link up with Röhl, who he has been friends with for more than a decade.

Pedersen, 45, joins as assistant head coach and has also been manager at Stromsgodset in Norway, with German side Braunschweig, at HB Koge in Denmark and  with RB Ghana in Ghana.

Powell and Pedersen join Performance Manager, Sascha Lense, in Röhl’s backroom team ahead of the German’s managerial debut at Watford tomorrow.
