Jos Luhukay says he does not feel under any added pressure, despite just one win in his first 10 Championship matches and with Wednesday sitting too close for comfort to the relegation places.
We remain seven points above the drop zone but only the poor form of those below us has prevented the Owls from plunging further into trouble after just two victories in the last 20 league games.
As he prepared for Saturday’s Hillsborough clash with a Bolton side only three points behind us, Luhukay said: “In football you always have pressure. For me it is no problem, whether we are up or down in the league, every week and in every game you will try 100 per cent to give what you have and that it also for my players.”
Asked if he felt it fair he be judged on his record to date at S6, given the horrendous injury list he inherited, Luhukay said: “I must accept this. In football you must always have results and when you have not the resuts it is always the manager who gets maybe critcism.
“I must accept that but I know the internal situation and we must also be a little bit realistic. When we are realistic then every knows the situation.
“I know in football you must also have a good direction and that is what we also try to achieve.”
