George Hirst will not be figuring for Wednesdays’s first team in the foreseeable future as his long-running contract dispute continues.
Jos Luhukay confirmed recently that Hirst was now available for the under-23s after not playing for any Wednesday team for several months, due to contract negotiations breaking down.
He has since returned to action for the youngsters and featured in the 1-1 draw with Crewe on Thursday, missing a penalty after being fouled.
However, the Owls boss has now confirmed that he will not be able to select him for the first team while the contract problem continues.
