Hey SWFC family,

It’s hard to believe it’s less than 85 days since we officially began our stewardship of this incredible football club.

A lot has happened in a short space of time.

First, thank you for your support, passion, patience and belief.

The energy around Sheffield Wednesday is real, and every week I spend in Sheffield – and around our team, as I have this week in Europe – strengthens my belief in what this club can become.

We are making progress, on and off the pitch.

Our players are training hard and preparing hard for the new season. We’ve added exciting new signings, retained important talent and secured the long-term futures of young players.

Building a team for today matters, but building a team for tomorrow matters just as much.

We are also investing heavily in the people around the club. David Bruce is building an outstanding leadership team with clear strategy, structure and alignment, and I continue to be hugely encouraged by the quality of people joining Sheffield Wednesday.

Beyond the first team, we’re investing significantly in the training ground, improving infrastructure and upgrading supporter experiences at Hillsborough.

We’ve welcomed Umbro back, begun work on new premium spaces and are developing new partnerships to improve the in-stadium fan experience.

We are also reconnecting with club legends and people who helped build Wednesday’s history.

That matters deeply to me. A club like Sheffield Wednesday should honour its past while building its future.

I also want to speak openly about our current operating environment.

Following administration, we are operating within an agreed financial framework with the EFL for the next two seasons.

We are aligned with that approach and believe sustainable, disciplined decision-making is the right foundation for the club’s long-term success.

This includes a league-approved operating budget, no ownership equity funding and a defined transfer fee budget. Although player sales can be reinvested across our wider football operation, including player wages, they do not increase the agreed transfer fee budget.

I share this not as an excuse, but because I believe in transparency.

The reality is we are rebuilding, which makes smart leadership and long-term thinking even more important.

But let me be clear – these constraints do not change our ambition. Not one bit.

Michael, Tom and I remain fully committed to building a successful, sustainable Sheffield Wednesday that competes at the highest possible level and makes this city proud.

Not every improvement will be immediately visible, but important work is happening every single day.

We are building.

We are investing.

We are moving forward.

And we are doing it for you.
