Wednesday continue our build-up to the new season with a friendly against Stoke City in Vienna tomorrow, kick off 1pm (UK time).
We travelled from our initial training camp in Hungary into Austria and now face Championship opposition in Stoke, with the teams playing 140 minutes, enabling the players to get 70 minutes each under their belts.
Manager Henrik Pedersen said ahead of tomorrow’s tester: “We’ve had a period of real intensity and it’s been fantastic for everyone. The facilities have been outstanding and the climate just right for the levels of the training.
“The boys have have given a lot in training and you can see the big differences in fitness as the pre-season has gone on. Now we go to the next step in Austria.
“Against Preston, before we arrived in Hungary, the players got 60 minutes each. Now, against Stoke we play 140 minutes, so they will get 70 minutes each. This will be a big game because Stoke are a good Championship team.”
