Latest signing Billy Mitchell has linked up with his new Wednesday team-mates and flew out with the squad today for their training camp in Hungary and then onto Austria.
The 25-year-old midfielder said after joining us from Championship side Millwall: “I’m very excited, this is a massive club, a massive opportunity. We all know Sheffield Wednesday don’t belong in League One and I, along with the rest of the boys, am going to make it our sole mission to get promoted.
“It’s the history of the club, the size of the club, the fans, and I’ve heard great things about the dressing room. I think the thing that sticks out to me the most is how everyone’s stuck together, how the fans have stuck by the team through thick and thin. That’s something that you can’t buy.”
Mitchell links up again with Barry Bannan, who spent the second half of last season at Millwall before returning to S6 earlier in the summer.
He has signed a three-year deal with Wednesday after spending all his career with the Lions and chalking up just under 200 appearances for the club.
