New owners ‘to back Gray in loan market’

Stuart Gray says the new owners have pledged their support to the head coach as he considers bringing in loan signings in the coming weeks.

Gray met with them last week and said: “The new owners will support me and back me to bring more players in. They are 100 per cent wanting to strengthen the team.”

He also said that, having achieved the 40-point mark with the draw against Brighton, he has now challenged the players to reach 50 points.

Reflecting on yet another disappointing – and goalless – home display, against Brighton, Gray said: “We have to keep believing. We had chances in the first half and chances in the second half and I would be concerned if that wasn’t the case.

“Their keeper made three crucial saves and we are all frustrated again. We will keep at it, keep believing and if that means working even harder, then so be it.”
