Wednesday have been left further shocked by news of the death of former midfielder Chris Bart-Williams on Monday … just hours after it was announced that Trevor Francis, the man who brought him to Hillsborough, had passed away.
Chris, 49, was signed by then player-manager Trevor and joined us as a 17-year-old from Leyton Orient in 1991, spending four successful years at Wednesday before moving to Nottingham Forest.
He had been working in the United States running CBW Soccer Elite, an international soccer training and college recruiting service, which helps to place promising youngsters in US college soccer programmes.
The London Owls send our sympathies to Chris’ family at this extremely difficult time.
