Wednesday loanee Jeff Hendrick was an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland lost 2-0 to France in their European Championship group qualifier in Paris this evening.
The defeat means the Republic face a near must-win match with the Netherlands in Dublin on Sunday to keep alive their fading chances of qualification.
Midfielder Hendrick joined us on a season-long loan from Newcastle on transfer deadline day last month and could make his way into the Wednesday squad for our home game with Ipswich when the Championship programme restarts on September 16.
