Giles Coke is an injury doubt for Wednesday’s trip to Leicester on Saturday.
The midfielder suffered a foot injury just before half-time at Watford on Tuesday night and was immediately replaced by Jose Semedo.
There is still a doubt over him returning at the King Power Stadium and, if he is sidelined, then Semedo could get a rare starting place after finding himself on the bench in recent months.
That aside, Dave Jones may well keep with the line-up that created so many openings at Watford – particularly in the first-half – only to be undone twice in 10 minutes soon after the interval. That would mean Keiran Lee retaining his place and Leroy Lita having to settle for a substitute’s role.
We go into the game knowing that a third successive defeat, coupled with three points for Peterborough at home to Ipswich and at least a draw for Wolves at Forest, would put us back into the bottom three. However, victory against the Foxes, along with a draw or defeat for Ipswich and a loss for Birmingham at home to Derby would see us move above the pair. Three points and a reverse for Blackpool at Watford would also see us draw level with Paul Ince’s side on 43 points.
Nigel Pearson’s play-off chasing Leicester continue to show inconsistent form and have won just once in their last seven games – grabbing a last-minute midweek equaliser at home to Leeds to remain in fifth place. They totally outplayed us at S6 earlier in the season and were worthy 2-0 winners.
