Dave Jones reflected on a first-half decision which he felt possibly turned Wednesday’s game at Watford on Tuesday night.
With the Owls one-up through Michail Antonio’s effort, Lewis Buxton saw his close-range header blocked by Nyron Nosworthy, with Jones claming a handball and saying the ball went over the line anyway.
The Owls boss said: “It has spoilt what was a terrific performance from us and a great game of football, with two sides who were going for the points.”
It was certainly a much improved performance from Wednesday, compared to the lack-lustre display on Saturday against Forest, and we could easily have added to the one goal – particularly in the first-half and then from Connor Wickham’s second-half header.
Jones added: “I thought we were magnificent tonight, absolutely magnificent. The players deserved something from that because they worked hard and played so well.”
