Lewis Buxton is a doubt for Saturday’s home clash with Doncaster Rovers after suffering a new injury problem.
Buxton, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury, has suffered a badly cut knee in training. Dave Jones says the game could come too soon for him but they will wait until tomorrow for a further assessment.
Meanwhile, striker Chris Maguire is to have a scan on a toe problem.
Jones told today’s press conference that he tried to sign Doncaster loanee Federico Macheda before he joined Rovers and, in the light of Milan Mandaric saying we are looking to sign a striker or two in the near future, Jones hinted that he could possibly bring in a new face before Saturday.
With the Owls going into Saturday’s game still wthout a win on the board this season, Jones added: “Derby game or no derby game, irrespective of who we are playing, we have to give our fans something back.”
