Wednesday’s search for a striker has ended with the loan signing of Matty Fryatt and he goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s home derby with Doncaster Rovers.
Fryatt, 27, joins on a one-month deal from Hull City and Dave Jones could be tempted to put him straight into the starting line-up as the Owls search for their first win of the season.
Fryatt made his name as a young striker with Walsall, scoring 30 goals in 55 appearances. He then joined Leicester, where he netted 67 goals in 153 games, and moved on to Hull in a £1.2m deal at the end of December 2010, his record being 25 goals in 68 matches in a Tigers career hampered by a long-term Achilles injury last season.
