Worrying times after woeful Wednesday display

Wednesday had the look of relegation about them as we slumped to a woeful defeat at home to Bournemouth.

Two goals within the first half-hour from Matt Ritchie and Lewis Grabban put the visitors well in control and, while they were no more than workmanlike and organised, that was more than enough to ovecome our punchless display.

With Connor Wickham ruled out with a hamstring injury we offered very little threat up front and, although Bournemouth looked nervous after Jacques Maghoma took advantage of a fortunate rebound to reduce the arrears from close range on 78 minutes, we never looked like grabbing what would have been an undeserved point.

Defeat leaves us in the third relegation place, two points behind next placed Charlton and a further point away from Doncaster in 20th.
