Wednesday’s hopes of extending Connor Wickham’s loan spell at Hillsborough have been dealt a blow with reports that Forest are keen to take the young striker to the City Ground.
They are said to be ready to approach Sunerland about possibly taking Wickham on a loan deal, with a view to a permanent signing.
Wickham’s loan spell at S6 runs out on January 1 and Sunderland boss, Guy Poyet, who took charge after Wickham had moved to Hillsborough, has already said he wants to have a chat with the player on his return to the Stadium of Light before making any further decision on his future with the club.
