Caolan Lavery’s loan move to Chesterfield is to give him game time as the young forward continues his road to get back to full fitness.
Stuart Gray said: “It’s a case of him going out and getting match sharpness and match fitness after missing so much of the season with his knee injury.”
Meanwhile, 19-year-old striker Emmanuel Dieseruvwe joined the Spireites in a permanent deal and Gray explained: “Twelve months ago I offered him a year’s contract but Manny has not progressed and developed as quickly as I hoped.
“I have not stood in his way, I’ve allowed him to go out on loan and while he has not got as much game time as he had hoped, Chesterfield have seen enough in him to offer him an 18-month contract which I wasn’t going to do.”
