Wednesday looking to build on midweek morale-booster

Danny Rohl will be looking for more of the same when Wednesday take on Blackburn Rovers at Hillsborough on Saturday after the morale-boosting midweek draw with league leaders Leicester.

Jeff Hendrick’s added time equaliser against the Foxes at S6 gave a big lift to the Owls and now we have the chance to add another three points against a Blackburn side who have won four of their last six league games.

Boss Rohl said at the pre-match press conference: “Blackburn are a good team. They have had a good run and they deserve to be near the top of the table.

“This is a tough league with tough opponents but we are ready and we know we can do this again.”

Despite the battling performance against Leicester, we still find ourselves 12 points from safety and relegation rivals QPR continued their recent improved form with a 2-0 win at Preston on Friday night

Josh Windass is back in contention for a place in the Wednesday starting line-up after being suspended for the Leicester game but Mallik Wilks faces another lengthy lay-off after getting injured in a rare outing at Birmingham last weekend.

John Buckley is unavailable due to his loan agreement preventing him from playing against his parent club while Michael Smith is rated doubtful to return to action against Blackburn.

However, Bailey Cadamarteri could keep his place in the starting line-up after his impressive league debut against Leicester.
