Danny Rohl said the better team ended up pointless today after Wednesday’s much-improved away performance in the 2-1 defeat at Luton.
The Owls boss said: “*The better team lost today but the direction, the improvement, we are investing, it’s all there and we are taking steps forward and it’s what I want to see.
“At the moment we are lacking that final part to take the wins but we have to keep working in this way and we will get the points.
“I think last week we had a 50-50 decision that went against us and today another 50-50 decision against us but we had three or four opportunities to score more.”
He added: “We were the better team for the first 78 minutes, until the red card. We controlled the game, we had good pressing, we had structure and were always dangerous in transition.
“We need the team togetherness now and we will come through. If we work hard like this then the results will come.”
He also praised the backing of the sellout Wednesday contingent in the crowd, saying: “This was a different performance to the other two away league defeats this season and the fans recognised what we did today.”
