‘We thought like a team … and we played like a team’

Xisco Munoz hopes today’s first point of the season at Leeds will be the platform for an upsurge in form when Wednesday return to Championship action in a fortnight’s time.

The manager saw his team turn in an improved performance in a goalless draw at Elland Road and said: “Every day we need to perform and give better things. We need to give more consistency like the performance today.

“We showed very good attention, we are thinking like a team and we played like a team. We gave 100 per cent in all the actions and it was a very good display.”

While Leeds dominated overall, we had more openings than in the preceding four league games, manager Munoz saying: “We created more chances today and this is what we need to give in our performances.

“It’s only one point but it’s a start and today I’m happy. The players gave a very good performance and I’m happy for them.

“We’ve spoken a lot about the consistency needed, clean sheets and starting a game at one level and staying there.

“We need to continue with the same. Right now we have two weeks before our next match and during this time we need to work very hard.”
