Wednesday go to Luton tomorrow hoping to break our Championship awayday duck.
A 4-0 defeat at Sunderland and a 3-0 drubbing away to Millwall leaves us with no points – or goals – from those first two league trips and manager Danny Rohl is hoping the visit to Kenilworth Road will be the catalyst for an upsurge in form on the road.
Rohl changed the entire starting eleven from the 1-1 draw with QPR last Saturday when we won 1-0 in the Carabao Cup at Blackpool on Tuesday evening but will revert largely to the squad that drew with Rangers for tomorrow’s challenging game at Luton.
He said: “We will try everything, we know Luton is a tough place and that they are a team with high ambitions. But I feel the spirit, I feel the belief and the atmosphere is positive and the focus is there.
“When away, we have to find a way to get points, this is the challenge and we have three away games out of the next four coming up. We have to find a way and we will find a way.”
Michael Ihiekwe is available again after being suspended for the midweek cup tie while fellow defender Dominic Iorfa continues to make excellent progress from injury, although Rohl may want to give him another week on the training ground before reintroducing him into the matchday squad.
Nathaniel Chalobah is still ruled out with injury and Rohl says he wants to ensure the midfielder is fully fit before returning to action.
