Carlos Carvalhal’s only regret over today’s performance in the goalless draw with Derby was that Wednesday did not take all three points.
Our impressive build-up play – particularly in the first half – just lacked the all-important finishing touch or killer pass when required, leaving Carvalhal to relect: “We played with a lot of quality and the team was very well balanced.
“The only disappointment is the result as I think we were the better team and I feel we have lost two points today.
“I’m not saying we are better than Derby, but today we had more quality on the pitch.”
Carvalhal also looked back with pride at the progress he says Wednesday have made in his five months at the club.
He hailed the team spirit of the entire squad and used Liam Pamer as an example – citing the fact that he played at Blackburn, was not in the squad at Stoke in midweek but came back to play at right back today and, in the head coach’s view, was one of the best players on the pitch.
