Xisco Munoz believes his Wednesday side are close to getting their first Championship win of the season.
We have taken just one point from seven league games under Munoz, leaving us one place off the bottom of the table on goal difference and we face another early season ‘six-pointer’ tomorrow when we travel to Swansea, who sit one place and one point above us.
Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, Munoz said: “We are more close to winning the games. We have had chances to kill games and we are one step away. For me this is what we need to do in the next matches.
“One of the things that is most important is we need to be more consistent and be more solid. We are close and we can take the positives.”
Munoz said defender Dominic Iorfa is fit for consideration for the game after missing the midweek draw with Middlesbrough, following his early injury against Ipswich last Saturday.
However, the manager is unsure whether Josh Windass will have recovered from the leg injury which forced him off in the first half against Boro.
Munoz also confirmed that striker Kyle Taylor has been training with the Owls after being released by Nottingham Forest at the end of last season but says there is no further development, either way, at this stage.
Meanwhile, defender Ben Heneghan has joined division one Fleetwood after being sidelined at Hillsborough for much of last season following an ACL injury sustained at Lincoln, which also required surgery.
He was released by Wednesday in the summer but has still been training with the club before the announcement yesterday that he has joined Fleetwood.
