‘The job’s not done yet’ says Danny

Danny Rohl spoke of the need to complete our ‘great escape’ in the season’s finale at Sunderland next Saturday after our fine 3-0 win over West Brom this afternoon.

Victory over the Baggies means we now need no more than a point at the Stadium of Light to ensure our Championship survival and the Owls boss said: “No-one thinks this job is done yet, I will not allow this. We will now recover, then we are back in training and we prepare for our last game of the season.

“It stays in our hands and this is all we can ask. Now we have one more game to go, one more point and our job is done.”

On the West Brom performance, Rohl said: “I am so proud of my players, I love my team. This was an outstanding performance against one of the best sides in the Championship.”

And speaking of the fans at a sellout Hillsborough, Rohl said: “They are incredible. To see our massive fans all around the stadium was a great help to us. We all felt the energy that came from the stands and the players gave the energy back to the stands.

“We thank every single one of our fans and they know like we know that we are not there yet. We will prepare for Sunderland and we will aim to win the game.”
