Team news ahead of Coventry FA Cup tie

Wednesday go to Coventry in the FA Cup tomorrow evening without Dominic Iorfa.

The defender limped off in the second half against Millwall last Saturday and Danny Rohl says he will be sidelined until at least the end of February with a muscle injury.

Pierce Charles may well get a call-up, with James Beadle given a break, but Rohl says he will still be fielding a strong side for the third round tie, saying: “We will go there with the right attitude and a good mentality and try to get to the next round.”

The manager added that there is no reason to rest players for the tie as we have had no midweek match this week and it is the same next week, but he is likely to take the opportunity to shuffle his options to some degree.

Marvin Johnson may also be missing against Coventry after taking a knock against Derby and being subbed at half time, he could be on the bench tomorrow or fit to return next week.

With Akin Famewo also still out of action, Rohl said the defensive injuries could give more first-team chances to Gabriel Otegbayo while Liam Palmer, Michael Ihiekwe, Olaf Kobacki and Callum Paterson can expect to be in contention for a place in tomorrow’s squad.

The tie kicks off at 6pm and will be settled on the night, possibly going to extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout.
