Stuart demands reaction against Brighton

Head coach Stuart Gray will be expecting Wednesday to bounce back from the lifeless display at Ipswich with victory against struggling Brighton at Hillsborough on Saturday.

After Tuesday night’s surrender at Portman Road, Gray said: “We’ve had words in there and I want a reaction against Brighton on Saturday.”

We go into the game with just three home league wins all season and with no victories in five matches. Defeat would also start to cause some concerns as we currently stand only nine points off the relegation places.

Reflecting on the Ipswich performance, Gray said he could have taken off several players at half-time and, referring to the absence of the injured Jose Semedo and suspended Glenn Loovens, he added: “You are always going to miss players of that quality. They are good, experienced players but it’s up to those coming in to take their opportunity.”

Loovens will be available again on Saturday after a two-match ban but Wednesday will have to wait on Semedo as he recovers from his toe infection while Chris Maguire serves the second game of his two-match suspension.”
