Danny Rohl says he has told chairman Dejphon Chansiri his decision on whether the manager is staying at Hillsborough.
After weeks of speculation about his possible future at S6, Rohl told the press conference ahead of Saturday’s final home game of the season against Portsmouth: “The chairman knows my decision. This is important and the club knows what is in my mind.”
However, Rohl added that now is not the time to talk further about the situation and would not do so until after the end of the season.
Looking ahead to the visit of Pompey, Rohl said most of the team from Monday’s impressive 2-1 home win over Middlesbrough would start again on Saturday.
On the injury front, Michael Ihiekwe could be fit to return and Ike Ugbo may well be recalled to the squad but Dominic Iorfa and Akin Famewo are ruled out, Pol Valentin is doubtful and Gabriel Otegbayo is struggling with illness.
We will be looking for a second home win inside a week, victory over Middlesbrough on Monday taking us onto 56 points in 13th place, while Portsmouth look all but safe on 52 points.
