Rohl: Massive result … keep momentum going … let’s see sellout

Danny Rohl spoke of a “massive result” after seeing his Wednesday side chalk up a fifth win out of our last six Championship games and put ourselves within touching distance of moving out of the bottom three.

The 1-0 Hillsborough victory over Plymouth sees us now level on points with the three clubs directly above us and, although two of them are in action on Wednesday evening, the delighted manager said: “This was a massive result and performance, I am so proud of my players. It’s another clean sheet as well and this is the basic, the defence has been fantastic.

“The first half we played well. The second half we did not have the control that I like but our fighting around our box was outstanding.

“Now we must keep going, keep the momentum. My players have given everything again, we deserved the win, all the guys are fighting for every ball, the whole team.”

Our next challenge is the visit of Yorkshire rivals Leeds to S6 on Friday night as they continue their bid for an instant return to the Premier League and Rohl says he would love to see a sellout crowd for the match.

He said: “The last six games and five wins – it’s massive – and now I hope all our supporters will please come to the stadium on Friday night and push us forward against a strong side.

“I want to see a sold-out stadium.”
