Wednesday moved to within a point of the play-offs with a deserved 2-1 victory at Rotherham this evening.
Goals early in the second half from Lucas Joao and Fernando Forestieri put us in control and, although the Millers pulled a goal back through Tom Thorpe in the dying seconds, there was no denying Wednesday as we stretched our unbeaten run to eight games.
It was a hard-working and disciplined display from the Owls with only a goal or two missing from our first-half performance and then came the double strike from Joao and Forestieri, with the latter almost making it three soon afterwards.
Rotherham’s only second-half threat came from set pieces and the last of these led to their late consolation.
