New Wednesday boss Xisco Munoz has talked today of ‘a new era, setting goals and the need for more options’ in his first Hillsborough press conference.
Speaking less than 24 hours after being announced as Owls manager, Munoz said: “I’m very happy to be here with a massive club, a massive fanbase and a big history.
“I know the ambition of the club. We always try to give our best. We have short, medium and long-term goals and we need to improve.
“We arrive and try to take the best decisions we can. We have a very good group but we also need more options.”
Chairman Dejphon Chansiri said of the new manager: “Xisco is ambitious, hungry and plays attacking football. I think he’s going to improve our team for the future.”
Munoz added: “We need a new era. I don’t want to speak about three weeks ago. Everyone knows what happened before. Now it’s about what we want, what we need. This is our focus.
“Our first goal is we arrive and try to improve on the training ground. Now is the moment for everybody to start pushing.
“Today I spoke to the guys about starting the hard work and we have a good group.”
