Munoz’s message to players ahead of ‘derby clash’ with Leeds

Xisco Munoz has called for the Wednesday players to show 100 per cent concentration when we take on Yorkshire rivals Leeds at Elland Road tomorrow afternoon.

The manager has yet to see his squad gain a point this season after four games back in the Championship, along with a hugely disappointing Carabao Cup exit to division two Mansfield at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.

It all means we badly need a lift in form and results to possibly lift us off the foot of the table, particularly with the first international break of the season coming after the Leeds clash.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s match against a Leeds side who have taken five points from their first four league outings following last season’s relegation, Munoz said: “We can’t have one moment where we relax in the game.

“We need to show big attention for 95 minutes, work hard and put in a good performance.”

Talking after the Mansfield defeat, Munoz said of the Leeds game: “We will see what happens at Leeds. It’s a big challenge.

“It’s a better team than us but 100 per cent we go there to get the points because we need them and because the players are working very hard every day.”

Munoz has confirmed that Momo Diaby will again be missing from the Owls midfield following his injury sustained against Preston last month.
