Morecambe v Owls match preview

Darren Moore has no new injury problems for Wednesday’s return to League One action at Morecambe this evening.

The trip to the north-west coast comes after the postponement of Saturday’s scheduled match at Plymouth as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Owls boss will be looking for a positive reaction from his Wednesday squad after a poor showing in our last game, the 2-0 home defeat to Barnsley, and may well make changes from that starting line-up.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ben Heneghan could both be in contention to join the squad after injury, along with Jack Hunt who has been sidelined through illness.

Michael Smith may well get a starting place up front against a Morecambe side who are still looking for their first win of the season and are expected to field Liam Shaw, the ex-Owl having joined them on loan from Celtic.

There will be a minute’s silence before kick off in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the playing of the National Anthem, both sides will wear black armbands and flags will also be flying at half-mast.
