Darren Moore was full of praise for Lee Gregory after his goal gave us the 1-0 win over Fleetwood.
Moore said: “He’s been itching to start a game, it was great to see him get on the scoresheet and I thought he had a great game, leading the line really well.”
On the overall display, the manager commented: “I thought we started off really well. Some of our slick play and passing was good to see.
“Then we got the goal but from the middle of the first half it just petered out and we stopped doing one or two of the movements and details of passing.
“Slowly we allowed them to grow back into the game.
“We said at half time to keep the game simple, make sure we keep a clean sheet and get the three points … and that is what we did.”
With four successive clean sheets, Moore also talked of how the understanding between players continues to develop and talked of the resilience of our defending.
Sam Hutchinson will be assessed over the next 48 hours after limping off at half time with what Moore described as a calf or ankle problem.
