Darren Moore praised the performance of his much-changed Wednesday side in tonight’s Carabao Cup victory over Sunderland.
Moore made eight changes to the team that won at MK Dons on Saturday and said of this evening’s display: “I thought we played well and got stronger as the game wore on.”
Reflecting on the goals, he added: “The first goal was an excellent strike from Dennis and the second epitomised how we worked well together to press the opposition.”
He said Lee Gregory was taken off just before half time as a precaution after feeling tightness and will be assessed tomorrow while Akin Famewo “is going to be out for some considerable time” after his injury at MK Dons on Saturday.
