David Jones and Joost van Aken were both in the starting line-up as Wednesday’s under-23s went down 2-1 at home to Barnsley on Friday evening.
Two excellent strikes soon after half time put the visitors in charge and, although Jordan Lonchar pulled one back, the Wednesday youngsters slipped to another defeat.
Jones played for the first 45 minutes and van Aken lasted 80 minutes before being substituted.
