Jose Semedo received great support from the Wednesday fans when he skippered the Owls at Wolves today in what could have been his swansong for the club.
Semedo, who has been a crowd favourite since signing five years ago, heard his name echoing around Molineux before kick off and then received a tremendous ovation from the 4400 Wednesday fans at the end of the game.
He returned the compliment on the final whistle, saluting the fans and pointing to the club badge on his shirt, and said after the game: “It is impossible not to be emotional at the end of the game with all the fans screaming your name.
“The love they show to me and the love I show to them back is something special and unforgettable.”
Looking forward, Semedo added: “I don’t know if I have a future at the club but, whatever happens, this club will always be in my heart.”
