Hooper injury blow for Wolves trip

Gary Hooper is ruled out of Wednesday’s trip to Wolves on Saturday with a hamstring problem and could face a lengthy lay-off.

Hooper limped off in the second half of the 1-1 draw at Fulham, with Carlos Carvalhal confirming after the game that the striker faced a scan on a possible muscle injury.

Today, Carvalhal said Hooper would miss the match at Molineux and could be out “for some time”.

Daniel Pudil, who was not available for the Fulham clash after picking up a knock while away with the Czech Republic,  has been training this week and could make a return to the defence.

Lucas Joao also has two weeks of full training under his belt after a lengthy lay-off and Almen Abdi is expected to be back in training on Friday following a bout of illness.
