George Hirst got a taste of England action when he came on as a late substitute in the 1-0 Toulon tournament win over Angola.
Hirst came on for the final 15 minutes for the Young Three Lions side – a mixture of age groups from the Under-18s, 19s and 20s – as England triumphed thanks to a goal from Chelsea’s Ike Ugbo.
The victory puts England top of Group A, with rivals Japan and Cuba drawing 1-1 in their opening game.
We wait to see if Hirst gets a starting place for England’s next game in the tournament when they take on Cuba on Thursday evening, kick off 7.30pm.
