Forestieri back in full training

Fernando Forestieri is back in full training as Wednesday prepare for Saturday’s home game with Preston.

The striker has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem but will have a final fitness check tomorrow after resuming training this week. Head coach Carlos Carvalhal also waits on an update on Daniel Pudil, who suffered a hamstring injury in the win at Brentford on Saturday and has only managed light training.

Preston, who are looking for only their second league victory of the season, are expected to include ex-Owls Chris Kirkland and Stevie May in their squad, along with former S6 loanee Will Keane.

Three points against Preston would mean four wins in a row for Wednesday but Carvalhal was quick to warn against complacency today, saying: “There are signs we are getting better – but in the Championship you cannot sleep for one second because you will lose a game.”
