Gray looks to add to squad after cup win

Stuart Gray was pleased with the Owls three-goal victory over Notts County and then confirmed he is looking to add to the squad.

Gray said: “First and foremost I am pleased to get the win. We are in the hat for the next round and that’s what matters at this stage.

“I could sense in the warm-up that the players were at it and full credit to them because they put a real shift in and got their rewards.”

And the head coach said he is hoping phone calls in the coming days might lead to more new signings at Hillsborough.

One of those discussions could be with ex-Owl and Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson over the future of Chris Wood.

The striker has failed to command a regular place with City and, with his likely move to Wolves falling through, Wednesday are thought to be interested in bringing him to S6 – either on loan or a permanent deal – with Derby and Fulham amongst those also reportedly interested.
