Wednesday will check on the fitness of skipper Glenn Loovens on Friday before deciding if he is fit to face Bristol City on Saturday.
Loovens limped off in the first half against Blackburn on Tuesday evening after suffering an ankle injury. Carlos Carvalhal says there was an improvement in his condition on Thursday but will wait another 24 hours before making a decision on whether Loovens is ready for the City game.
Vincent Sasso, who came on for Loovens against Blackburn, is likely to replace him if required, although Michael Turner may also come in to contention.
Sam Hutchinson, who has been laid low with a fever for almost two weeks, is on the way to recovery but is unlikely to be considered for the Bristol trip.
However, Barry Bannan is ready to return to the midfield after his three-match suspension.
